I have to say: this present was long in the making, and I’ve been eagerly waiting to see it officially in a real printed copy that I can hold in my hand.
This month’s issue of School Arts magazine contains my first published professional article. AND the image on the cover of the magazine is my own photograph of one of my students. My article: The Wish Tree Project is on pages 34 & 35 of the magazine and I am giddy with excitement. This was a fantastic and challenging experience, and I can’t wait to submit future articles. I have been subscribing to School Arts magazine every since my first year in the Art Education program at George Mason University, and it has proven to be one of my most reliable sources of lessons ideas and useful art teacher information. I love that I can view tons of archived issues through my digital subscription and whenever I am stumped I can flip through the latest issue for inspiration.
(I think that is the end of my voluntary School Arts advertisement)
Having my writing published has been one of my lifelong goals and I see this as a dream come true as well as a possible opportunity for future writing. I am so excited, and I can’t wait to share the magazine article with my students at the beginning of this school year!
